Overview:
“She took everything!” That’s what I said after I woke up and realized all of my things were gone and that i’d be traveling to the airport in my boxers and some Jordan Retro 11’s. I let my guard down one night after having a few drinks with a girl I had been talking to online for a few months before I arrived. I suddenly felt sleepy and when I woke up all of my stuff was gone. I had been drugged and robbed; trust no one here as scams are common. Never leave your drink unattended here or in any country for that matter. The weather is tropical year round and the city is a bit run down. Things are also surprisingly expensive here.
The Rankings (As explained on the homepage):
GH: 8
PP:2
QOC:2
FQ:3
The Women:
This is really the only reason to go to Santo Domingo. Many of the women here resemble mixed race black women and are some of the curviest women in the world. If you like skinny girls there are plenty of those here too. If you have a problem paying for it then you will want to skip right over the entire country because that is the Dominican way! Even Dominican men pay for it here. The country is far behind the modern world with most women earning much less than men so it is the man’s responsibility to take care of the woman. And guess what buddy, if you’re sleeping with her she will expect some money. You can meet women online before you come if you want or just meet your women once you arrive, either way you’ll be paying them!
Must Do:
Hit the beach in Boca Chica and take in some sun while sipping Pina Coladas. Smoke some cigars as Dominican cigars hold their own when paired against cubans. You can also visit what is said to be Christopher Columbus’ tomb located in La Zona Colonial.
Nightlife:
Avenida Venezuela is the nightlife center of the city so jut head there and bar hop. Mixer Bar and Lounge is a nice lounge with a pool and bottle service if you are going with a group of people but definitely not a place to meet women.
Food:
Nothing special; I’ve been to Santo Domingo four times and I got sick 3 of them. Many foreigners get sick here after eating the food so definitely use caution and only drink bottled water. If you are using ice, make sure it was made with filtered water. For some reason a lot of pros hang around the pizza shops in Boca Chica, they’ll definitely be after some of you dough and cheese!
Where to Stay:
If you stay in La Zonal Colonial you can save money on transportation since everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. If you want to spend some money stay at the Hotel Bellini and if you’re on a budget stay at the Hotel Roma. My favorite hotel is the Hotel W&P but that’s located in La Sarasota and you will need a taxi to get around. The W&P has a lounge upstairs called “Vent” and a restaurant downstairs and the rooms will start at around $80 a night after taxes are added.
Getting Around:
Uber is the way to go. Taxi’s are very expensive here compared to other Latin American countries and a taxi ride from the airport to any part of town will have a universal rate of $40.
